The options for how to shape and structure poetic language are endless, and the structure you choose affects shape, sound, and meaning. A poem creates an intimate relationship with its readers, and its structure helps build a framework for that relationship. In this workshop, we will play with the possibilities for shaping your words and images to bring out the best in your poetic expression.
What to bring:
Your favourite writing implements
Your brown-bag lunch and water bottle
Clothing and shoes that allow you some movement (optionally outdoors)
Your sense of linguistic fun, play, and adventure
Optional: A short sample of your poetic writing that is looking for a structure
