Annual General Meeting
Join us for the PEI Writers’ Guild Annual General Meeting on November 12 from 6–8pm at PEERS Alliance in Charlottetown. We’ll review the past year, elect new board members, and share what’s ahead for 2026. All members and supporters are welcome!

A Night at The Gallery - Open Mic!

Join us on Thursday, June 26th at The Gallery Coffee House & Bistro for a hybrid evening of live readings and literary celebration. We’ll kick things off with selections from our vibrant Open Mic community (inspired by the optional prompt PRECISION), followed by readings from the 2025 Battle Tales finalists—culminating in the announcement of this year’s Battle Tales Champion!

Together, we’ll experiment with poetic structure as a framework for deeper connection with your readers. Bring your favourite writing tools, a lunch, and a short poem-in-progress if you have one!

Battle Tales TEN!
The 2025 PEIWG Battle Tales contest launches May 16 with three surprise prompts—and just one week to write your short story! Submissions will be judged by last year’s champion, writer and artist Monica Lacey. Finalists will be celebrated at our in-person Battle Tales FINALE, sponsored by The Gallery Coffee House & Bistro. In this hands-on workshop, author and book critic Caitlyn Paxson will guide you through crafting an effective pitch and show how it can help you achieve success. Join us on Saturday, April 5th, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Beaconsfield Carriagehouse in Charlottetown, PE to refine your pitch and elevate your writing.
