March may have brought with it a snow storm that cancelled our Open Mic, but the good news is that it's created opportunity for us to host TWO Open Mics in April!
Since we had to cancel our last event we're going to make up for lost time and are excited to host a MAKEUP Open Mic Night at The Gallery Coffee House & Bistro on TUESDAY, APRIL 4th!
Bring your friends, sign up to perform, read your writing aloud, or listen to other writers perform theirs! Grab a bite, have a drink, but most importantly ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL EVENT!
TO PERFORM: If you'd like to read some of your writing aloud as part of one of our future Open Mics, simply EMAIL us at director@peiwritersguild.com and if there's room on the list we'll get you signed up with further details!
PLEASE NOTE THAT PRIORITY WILL GO TO PEI WRITERS' GUILD MEMBERS!
*This event is FREE to attend*
There is no cost to attend this event. Donations to the Guild will be graciously accepted (but not necessary in order to attend the event)—all donations will be used to further programming and services of the PEI Writers' Guild (including offering bursaries to our workshops)

The Self Publishing Author's Guide to Book Marketing
A FREE webinar hosted in partnership by the PEI Writers' Guild and FriesenPress. Open to PEIWG members and non-members alike!
Marketing is one of the most important elements of a self publishing author’s journey. Whether writing is a career goal or a passion project, the right marketing strategy for your book is essential.
This FREE webinar will provide an overview of the foundational marketing practices needed to build an audience for your book prior to publication and in the long term. We’ll also explore the differences between hiring companies to handle your book promotion versus executing those pieces yourself with or without coaching.
Within the vast expanse of publishing, it’s easy for authors to feel overwhelmed. The goal of this webinar is to provide a clear understanding of your options, the marketing services available to you, and develop an informed opinion on how to best move forward with your publishing journey.
Who will be facilitating?
This free webinar will be hosted by CHRISTOPH KONICZEK, a Publishing Consultant with the largest publishing services provider in Canada. Christoph has assisted authors with bringing over 2,000 titles to the market (and counting) in his decade-plus in the trade.
Who is FriesenPress?
This webinar is a partnership between the PEI Writers’ Guild and FriesenPress, the world's only 100% employee-owned publishing services provider. Since 2009, they have helped thousands of authors publish over 8,000 titles. Part of Canada's largest independent book printer, Friesens Corporation, FriesenPress offers professional editing, design, distribution, and promotional support to those seeking to self-publish their books.
When, where, how?!
The webinar will be taking place over Zoom on Wednesday, April 19th, 6pm AST and all of those interested can register on our website at www.peiwritersguild.com
81 Prince St.| Charlottetown, PE| C1A-4R3 www.peiwritersguild.com
