Deirdre Kessler

Deirdre Kessler holding a Tasmanian devil joey (a baby) at Trowunna Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, Mole Creek, Tasmania, Nov. 2010.

Deirdre Kessler will read her new children’s book, DREAMTIME, to children at the Confederation Centre Children’s Library on Thursday morning, 29 September, at 10 a.m.

DREAMTIME will be published in the fall of 2011 by The Acorn Press and is a picture book for very young children.

Like Margaret Wise Brown’s classic, Goodnight, Moon, DREAMTIME is a bedtime story with soothing rhythms and language to calm young listeners.

Deirdre will conduct a group reading of DREAMTIME by the children gathered. Deirdre will also read from two additional new works, DANGER: KEEP OUT!, a chapter book for grades 2 and 3 and she may also read from a work in progress, THE SPACE BEHIND THE GARAGE, a novel for middle grades.

Deirdre will bring along original artwork and production stages from a number of her children’s books for show and tell and may even bring along her guitar and song sheets for a group singalong.
